Virtual Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offered virtually fosters a strong therapeutic relationship by providing a comfortable and accessible environment for clients, allowing them to express themselves openly without the constraints of traditional settings. Additionally, the convenience of virtual sessions can enhance consistency and engagement, leading to more effective therapeutic outcomes and deeper connections between the therapist and client.

emdr

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused therapy developed in the 1980s , theorizing that distressing memories can become “stuck” in the nervous system. By using bilateral stimulation, while recalling traumatic events, EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional intensity. Clients experience decreased symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and distress, gaining more clarity & emotional regulation.

parts work

Parts work (as reflected in our name) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and integrating the various sub-personalities or "parts" within an individual, each with its own perspectives, emotions, and roles. By fostering a compassionate dialogue among these parts, parts work aims to promote self-awareness, emotional healing, a sense of internal harmony, and self-trust.

Gestalt Therapy & Somatic Experiencing

Gestalt therapy is an experiential form of psychotherapy that emphasizes personal responsibility and focuses on the present moment, encouraging clients to become aware of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the here and now. Coupled with Somatic Experiencing, it emphasizes authentic expression, helping clients to recognize and resolve unfinished business from the past, ultimately leading to greater emotional insight and release.

NARRATIVE therapy

Narrative therapy is a therapeutic approach that views individuals as the authors of their own stories, emphasizing the importance of personal narratives in enabling or limiting identity and experience. By helping clients reframe and rewrite their narratives, this therapy fosters empowerment and reconceptualization, allowing individuals to find fresh perspectives on their problems along with new meanings and ways forward in their lives.

rites-of-passage

This is a framework that outlines the transformative processes individuals undergo during significant life transitions, involving three stages: separation, transition, and reintegration. In therapeutic work, this model can help clients navigate personal changes, facilitating growth by acknowledging their experiences, fostering resilience, and integrating new identities.

Clinical Consultation

Many helping professionals long for a structure that can hold the messy, disorienting, and deeply transformational processes their clients face, but feel uncertain about how to guide them through such terrain. Vital Parts offers consultation for group mental health practices, coaches, pre-licensed, and licensed clinicians seeking to support clients through grief, loss, and life transitions using the rites-of-passage model. With nearly a decade of experience facilitating this work, we help practitioners integrate ritual, symbolic process, and grounded psychological understanding so clients can move through thresholds with meaning, containment and care.
