From Alissa:

“Much of my work is helping highly sensitive people find functional, kinder approaches to self-relating that free them of self-criticism & shame. While I work with a wide array of clients, I work especially well with those navigating grief, anxiety/depression, neurodivergent burn-out, trauma, chronic health issues, as well as men seeking therapy for the first time or who are discouraged from past attempts.”

What’s in a name?

“Vital Parts” refers to the idea that all parts of ourselves are crucial to a fulfilling existence, and are thus implicitly worthy of our understanding and care. No part of an ecosystem is insignificant, all pieces are necessary to the whole and have a function, even when that system is operating ineffectively. Our internal worlds are as intricate and rich as an ecosystem, and similarly, thrive when we tend to them well. Each part plays its role and longs to operate healthfully. When we find tools that allow these parts to come into balance, they enrich and direct our lives with greater meaning and clarity. Vital Parts Psychotherapy offers an invitation to look at yourself deeply and curiously, and find the answers within you that work best for you.
